The call he accidently rejected.

He waited. patiently. For 42 days... for just a simple phone call. Or maybe even a message. But he was disappointed. He had been let down. She out of all the people had let him down. He did not expect her to become this distant. After all the secrets they had shared. After big secrets they had shared. After being there for each other at all times to overcome each others difficulties. With time they grew apart. She became famous. He was always there to support her. Finally they day came where she had to leave. He only expected a goodbye message. Or a call. He got neither.
Although disappointed he made up his mind. With time his heart that was deeply wounded was healing. And then she returned. Her return was expected. He just did not expect it to be so fast.
His pride held him back from trying to contact her. He was up all night. Wondering and wondering when she IM'd him. His whole body started to shiver. He found it difficult to control his happiness and excitement. He could not explain what he felt at that moment. He was shaking with a tremendous amount of happiness. He IM's her back. She asked him how he had been. He was trembling.

They IM'd only for a brief few minutes. The next day he took up his courage and called her. She did not answer. He left her a message with his name. She said she would contact him soon.

That very night, he wanted to check the time. He picked up his phone and pressed the 'red' or else known as the 'no' or 'reject' button to get the light. Then a message popped up - 'call ended'-!
He panicked. He checked his call log.

His heart started beating. He was dismayed. He wanted to scream.
It had been the promised call. And he had 'accidently' cut it off. He panicked again and immediately called her back but the number was busy. He consoled himself knowing that she was just trying to dial him back. After a few brief moments he dialled her number. It rang. His heart went 'thud' 'thud'!

He was once again disappointed. She did not pick up. He tried once more only to fell pain and sorrow. He then left her a message. 'Sorry about earlier, it was an accident. I tried calling you back but you did not pick up'. And he cursed himself and continued his work.

Night time came. He dialled her number again. 5 times. She did not pick up. The phone just rang. He dealt with his disappointment.
He hoped the next day would be a better day. He kept reading her messages over and over. Consoling himself the next day would be a better day.. and finally drifted off to sleep.. hoping for a better tomorrow...

Afterthought. He may be she. She may be he.
